Whole Foods Looking to Put Salad Bars in Schools

New program will make local schools healthier at lunch time.

Whole Foods Market is participating with Chef Ann Cooper to provide a Salad Bar in grade schools in local communities.

Donations to this cause can be made at any Whole Foods Market location as well as online via Saladbarproject.org.

Any grade school within a 25-mile radius to any Whole Foods Market may apply for this grant to provide their school lunchroom with a Salad Bar, complete with necessary amenities including insert pans, cutting boards and knives.

Whole Foods Market in Lake Grove has raised over $3000.00 for this cause, over $78,000 Region-wide, and over $1.1 million dollars nation-wide.  

Through a statement, the company expressed hope that local Long Island schools are as excited about this opportunity as they are and take the time to apply their school at saladbarproject.org, for a chance to better the health and well-being of our young.
