Spring is here and along with warmer weather, Earth Day and seasonal cleaning, Whole Foods Market in Lake Grove has plenty of events to get you in to the spring spirit.

Whether looking to exercise with the kids, find all things local, or learn to cook some light perfect for spring meals, Whole Foods Market in Lake Grove has got you covered.

Saturday, April 2: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Making the Most of Meats: With barbecue season around the corner, learn what you can do with meat! What would a local foods store be without knowing your local butcher? Join us as we showcase the Meat Department and learn how to incorporate healthy meat options into your barbecuing agenda. 

Wednesday, April 6: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Hugo Naturals Demonstration:  Meet Hugo and Debra Saavedra, creators of Hugo Naturals Skincare, and sample some of their incredible all natural products in the Whole Body department. 
 
Wednesday, April 6: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. —Value Tasting Night: Love samples while you shop? Join us to find great value throughout the store and enjoy samples in every department. Learn more about their Madness Sales, Buy Big Save Big program, and Everyday Deals. 

Wednesday, April 6: 6 p.m. —Spring Soups Series: The weather is heatin’ up and so is Diane’s soups series! Learn how to integrate delicious soups into your spring diet.

Thursday, April 7: 5 p.m. — Exploring the Nutritarian Lifestyle: Integrating Raw Foods — $9.95 (covers the cost of the Nutritarian Handbook): Explore Dr. Fuhrman’s multi-faceted Nutritarian Prescription. This particular class will focus on the raw foods aspect of the diet, exploring tactics for integrating these nutritious foods into your daily diet.
*Note: class attendance requires purchase of Dr. Fuhrman’s Nutritarian Handbook. (Available at the store for $9.95).

Friday, April 8: 5 p.m. — KIDS CORNER: Eat on the Run: Kids Corner is getting physical. Get the kids eating right and exercising too! The children will try some foods that work best to boost energy and aren’t too filling, offering the optimal level for perfect playtime. Alicia free Wee Warriors will teach you some new exercise moves; so be sure the kids are dressed to play.
 
Tuesday, April 12: 5 p.m. — The Tuesday Tour: All About ANDI: Learn more about their exclusive, easy to use nutrient rating system. Explore how to choose the best possible foods for you and your loved ones. 

Wednesday, April 13: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. — Farmers Market: Join them for an indoor market in our Café and meet your local farmers and artisans. Explore the unique and local items from the comfort of their café.

Wednesday, April 13: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. —Value Tasting Night: Love samples while you shop? Join them to find great value throughout the store and enjoy samples in every department. Learn more about their Madness Sales, Buy Big Save Big program, and Everyday Deals. 

Saturday, April 16: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Meet Your Local Vendor: 
Put a face to the product. Join them for their Local Vendor Series to learn more about local vendors. Ask about their story, chat about their products and get to know your local suppliers. This month, meet Joan Popkin, owner and operator of Joan’s Gluten Free Great Bakes, located in Bellmore, N.Y.
 
Saturday, April 16: Noon — Behind the Rind Parmesan Cheese Cracking: Join them for a traditional Parmesan cracking event as we crack open a 90 –lb wheel of fresh Parmesan. Sample this Italian cheese and learn creative ways to incorporate it into simple dishes. 

Monday, April 18: 6 p.m. — Essential Oils Class: 
Learn the benefits of essential oils and how to make these helpful hydrating substances a part of your daily routine. Join Zambak in our Whole Body department as she integrates essential oils into soothing body lotion.

Friday, April 22: 5 p.m. — Kids Corner: Earth Day Gardening: In honor of Earth Day we’ll be teaching your little one’s the joy and importance of gardening. Be good to the earth and the earth will  be good to you. Sample some fresh foods grown in the earth and learn great methods for building a sustainable garden.

Tuesday, April 26: 5 p.m. — The Tuesday Tour: Gluten Free and More: Benefit from this informative journey through the store exploring gluten free foods, perfect for kids’ and adults alike. Includes sampling.
