Sachem Residents Document The Gas Crunch

Local videographers capture some of the long lines and mayhem in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Since the hurricane it has been well documented, some of the difficulties Long Islanders have had getting a tank of gas for their vehicles or generators. The Sachem community was no different.

Long lines reported at every gas station came pouring into our Facebook page as residents tried to crowdsource the best place to find gasoline within a reasonable wait time. Some reported waiting more than three hours for an open pump. Others reported waiting hours and then having the station shut down just before they reached the pumps.

Here's a compilation of some of videos that captured the madness. Warning: some of the language can get a little salty.
