Sachem Patch Business Notebook, September 13

A look at the business scene from around the Sachem community.

From rolling out new products to purchasing new facilities, local businesses continue to expand their services to stay ahead of the game. Here's a look at what's happened lately:

HD Communications Corp. Introduces New In-Wall Wi-Fi Access Point: HD Communications Corp. of Ronkonkoma has announced its release of the HD28650, its fourth generation In-Wall/802.11b/g/n Wireless Access Point, according to PR Newswire. The new version is Power over Ethernet (PoE) enabled, includes both data and telephone jacks, and is tailored to fit inside a standard single gang box. According to President and CEO Don Davis, the in-wall design improves Wi-Fi range by enabling the access point to be nearer to the user.

The HD28650 has already been installed in hotels, motels, residential homes and educational institutions, and was formally introduced at the CEDIA EXPO 2011 from September 8-10. It is currently available for purchase from HD Communications Corp., but will be available via a national distribution firm in the near future.

JVC Media a Charter Client of The Media Dash: The Media Dash, a web-based platform which enables advertisers to easily purchase streaming and on-air advertising space, recently made Long Island its fourth radio market in the United States. According to PR Newswire, JVC Media of Ronkonkoma is one of two of the company’s charter clients on the island, the other being the Aloha Station Trust in East Patchogue.

JVC Media president and CEO John Caracciolo has expressed his hopes that the company’s use of Long Island Media Dash will better enable local businesses to get through to listeners, as the platform outlines a simple four-step customizable process which includes searching for ad offerings, selecting the appropriate package, uploading or creating a commercial, and submitting payment.

JVC Media owns Party 105.3 FM, La Fiesta 98.5 FM, My Country 96.1 FM, and WRCN 103.9 FM.
