Sachem Patch Business Notebook, October 4

A look at the business scene from around the Sachem community.

Businesses in the Sachem community continue to head into fall with some impressive signs of growth. Here’s a look at what’s happened lately:

New Life Chiropractic Offers BrainCore Therapy: Dr. Keri Chiappino and Dr. W. Brent Reynolds, the chiropractic neurologists of Lake Grove’s New Life Chiropractic, have announced the addition of BrainCore Therapy to their repertoire of holistic therapy options, according to NewsLI. BrainCore Therapy works by recording and measuring patients’ brainwaves through electroencephalography (EEG), a non-invasive technique that allows practitioners to see how the brain is functioning and to create a customized treatment plan for each individual.

The neurofeedback program regulates the nervous system through a reward-based training method where patients are positively reinforced for appropriate responses to stimuli, thus promoting the creation of new neural pathways in the brain and the reworking of those that may be causing difficulty.

The program is effective in mitigating conditions linked to Neurological Dysregulation Syndrome (NDS), a disorder that stems from problems within the nervous system. These resulting conditions include ADHD, Autism, insomnia, depression, migraines, seizures and eating disorders among others. Dr. Chiappino and Dr. Reynolds are first in the field of Chiropractic Neurology to license the BrainCore Therapy technology.
