Sachem Patch Business Notebook, December 20

A look at the business scene from around the Sachem community.

This week met with limited, but notable, updates from businesses in the community. Here's a look at what's happened lately:

VAI Makes Food Logistics Magazine's 2011 List: ERP software provider Vormittag Associates, Inc. announced this week that it has been selected as a member of Food Logistics Magazine's FL100 list, according to MarketWatch. The leading business publication selected VAI's S2K Enterprise for Food software for its list for the software's ability to better allow grocery and foodservice distributors and manufacturers to achieve their business goals.

The program enables companies to efficiently manage enterprise resources and supply chain and customer relationships, as well as to comply with the new FDA Food Safety Modernization Act by using lot control to track the shelf life date of company products. The 2011 FL100 list focused primarily on providers helping clients set themselves apart while encouraging better safety and traceability throughout the supply chain.
