Sachem Patch Business Notebook, August 23

A look at the business scene from around the Sachem community.

Companies in the Sachem community are getting the recognition they deserve for outstanding performance and contribution. Here’s a look at what’s happened lately:

VAI Wins Golden Bridge Award for Innovation in Mobile Services: Vormittag Associates, Inc. (VAI) of Ronkonkoma was recently awarded the Golden Bridge Award for Innovation in Mobile Services at the 2011 Golden Bridge Awards in New York City. According to Marketwire, VAI won the coveted award for its S2K Sales Force software, one of the company’s S2K Enterprise Software solutions that was recently reworked to help maximize communication between sales teams and improve customer service through new social capabilities. Features of VAI’s enhanced S2K Sales Force software include improved sales analysis tools, immediate access to all sales data, the ability to sync S2K calendars and email with users’ desktops, a case-tracking customer service tool and a private blog feature.

The 2011 Golden Bridge Awards were voted upon by a panel of 40 judges from around the globe and announced at the third annual awards dinner on August 10. In addition to recognizing notable innovations, the Golden Bridge Awards span organizational performance, products and services, executives and management teams, women in business and the professions, case studies, product management, public relations and marketing campaigns and customer satisfaction programs. Nominations for the annual awards are open to both large and small organizations worldwide, including public, private, for-profit, non-profit and start-ups. More information on next year’s awards ceremony can be found here.

DrakonStudio Offers Post Production Services, Gives Back to Long Island Community: DrakonStudio, a multimedia production company located in Holbrook, offers its customers high quality production services. Customers are able enlist DrakonStudio on both high definition and standard definition projects for both digital video production and post-production. The company also offers event and location videography for both personal and corporate events, as well as commercial shoots, video to DVD transfers and duplications, video event invitations, real estate walkthroughs and internet presence optimization.

The production company gave back to the community earlier this month when it attended the Do it for Dona! bone marrow drive at the Miller Place Firehouse. DrakonStudio remained at the event from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., shooting footage of the hundreds of people who showed up to join the bone marrow registry. The studio created both a public service announcement and a documentary of the event in the hopes that their work would help to raise awareness of both the importance and the simplicity of bone marrow donation.
