Sachem Grad Provides Financial Services for Community with Ameriprise Business

Grew up in Holbrook and continues to work on Main Street.

A 1993 graduate of Sachem High School, Joseph Storzinger has affection for the community. His shop, tucked away on Main Street in Holbrook, is a testament to his devotion towards the Sachem spirit.

The owner of Ameriprise Financial, Storzinger, 34, embodies that same personal touch with his work in financial services.

His journey began at American Express Financial Advisors in 1998, which became Ameriprise Financial in 2005.

"Now that I look back on being a kid, I always was fascinated with money," he said.

As a young boy he held paper routes, mowed lawns, shoveled snow, and as soon as he was allowed – at 14 years of age – he got his first business experience working for Prime Meats on Grundy Avenue in Holbrook.

"There was nothing more enjoyable to me then working and getting that paycheck as a reward for my hard work," he said.

Ameriprise Financial and Storzinger have ambitions that are one and the same: to help clients achieve goals and dreams through sound financial plans. Storzinger offers a free consultation in which he reviews a client's data in an effort to plan the best strategy to meet their financial goals and needs. The focus has four cornerstones of financial planning: cash and liabilities, protection, taxes and investment.

The cash and liabilities component focuses on earning, spending and saving and the different factors that relate to someone's personal situation. The next step would be to protect assets with disability, life, health, homeowners and automobile insurance. Storzinger works with CPAs and lawyers to create a strategy that ensures how much a client or their loved ones are paying is controlled. Lastly, the investment component focuses on a long-term investment strategy that's aligned with the clients' goals.

Storzinger, who is married and has two daughters who attend Sachem schools, preaches that financial planning is, "important for anyone's situation from birth to 100 plus years old."

With the at-home feeling of entering Storzinger's office and the hustle and bustle of Main Street happening just outside the door, he also emphasizes the importance of being family oriented. He lives by the Ameriprise slogan, "Dream, Plan, Track," in the sense that he believes the client should always have a vision or dream of the future, create a plan to get there and track it over the years.

"If you don't have a vision, let us help you create one," said Storzinger, an active member of the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce.

Ameriprise, which is located at 1022 Main Street, suite B in Holbrook, is having a grand-reopening August 6.
