Medford Planet Fitness Opens Pre-Sale Office
Gym to be open 24 hours a day on weekdays.
The upcoming Medford Planet Fitness has begun pre-sales for membership and released preview information on the gym company's website.
The gym franchise, scheduled to open in December at the former Ultimate Fitness Medford location at 700 E. Patchogue-Yaphank Rd, opened a pre-sales office next to the Stop and Shop in the same shopping center on Monday. The office's hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. According to the company's website, the two plans available are $10 startup fee and $10 a month for its lowest membership including just the Medford location, and $20 per month with no startup fee for a Black Card membership that includes use of other locations in the franchise among other amenities. Both offers are listed as expiring on Nov. 17.
When the gym opens, the company's website lists its hours as 24 hours a day Monday through Friday, opening at 12 a.m. on Monday and closing Friday at 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. A Facebook page has also been created for the Medford location. As previously reported, the 24,500 square foot gym is currently being renovated to be a "showcase gym" according to its owner, John Mahoney in an LIBN report.
In addition to the usual treadmills, elliptical machines and other purple and yellow colored workout equipment at Planet Fitness locations, the facility is planned to have equipment not seen at other locations including a multistation Life Fitness machine as well as other strength-training equipment.
The gym will also have two hydromassage beds, tanning beds, massage chairs and a red light therapy total body enhancement machine that is claimed to rejuvenate skin.
The franchise's current closet location to Medford is 81 Middle Country Rd. in Centereach.
