Local Piano Store Holds 2nd Annual Contest

Video competition centers on subjects playing the piano.

Sonny’s Piano Warehouse in Holbrook has rolled out a campaign for the second year in a row, hosting a video contest on the company’s Facebook page. The “Win A Free Piano” contest is running for the next four weeks and calls for individuals, schools, church groups, or bands to enter.

Piano enthusiasts are instructed to make a home video of themselves or a loved one playing the piano, and then visit the company’s Facebook page. Once there, contestants are directed to upload the video and then implore their family and friends to vote for their video. At the end of the contest period, the individual with the most Facebook votes is declared the winner. The grand prize is an Albert Weber Upright, designed by a former Steinway engineer. Second place is a Stief Baby Grand, and third place is a Wurlitzer Upright.

Owner Sonny Dante Stancarone stated in a release that he came up with the Facebook contest to “spread the word that piano playing is fun, healthy, relaxing and something everyone can do.”
