Lawsuit Filed Against Taco Bell For OT Violations At Farmingville, Ronkonkoma Locations

Assistant general manager files class-action suit for unpaid overtime owed to him and other employees.

A Taco Bell employee who worked at both the Ronkonkoma and Farmingville restaurants is suing the company for what he claims are violations of state labor laws related to overtime pay.

According to Waiterpay.com, an online news outlet that covers the restaurant service industry, the suit was filed on July 30 by Augustine Castillo, who charges that both locations had failed to pay him and other assistant managers overtime for when they worked more than 40 hours in the week.

The suit was filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, according to the article. Castillo and the other plaintiffs are seeking back-pay on wages, overtime pay, liquidated damages and lawyer's fees.

A call to Taco Bell's public relations department was not returned.

i am an ex taco bell asst mgr/acting rgm. I'm not sure if this is the same person who's lawyer sent me a letter, but I wanted to join this cause. I was an asst mgr who worked over 50-60+ hrs per week while only getting paid 40 hrs of week, and performed as an acting RGM while only being paid as an asst. Well when I decided to stop doing the acting RGM which by the way was in a different town also, the area coach tried to find reasons to write me up to include giving me a write up that was about a month after the actual incident of me being sick.
