Help Wanted: Job Postings in Sachem, July 3

A glimpse at local positions available in the Sachem community.

Instead of looking at new positions this week, we here at Sachem Patch have gone back through job boards of the past and pulled out some of the positions that still remain open. The original posting date is listed in the job description. Have a look:

Banker: This entry-level position with Capitol One in Patchogue calls for a relationship banker who will be responsible for direct selling of customer and small business products. High School diploma or GED equivalent needed, as well as one year of retail or customer service experience. College course work in business preferred for this position originally posted on June 5.

Shop Help: Ronkonkoma-based manufacturer of acoustical wall panels and tack boards is looking for shop help. This is a full time, entry-level position first posted on June 26. Applicant must be able to use a tape measure and should be good with their hands. Must be reliable. Starting pay is $10 per hour. Pay increase based on performance. Customer Service Rep: The Carco Group, an information service company in Holtsville, is in need of a customer service representative. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required. Position boasts good starting salary and benefits. Responsibilities include resolving customer inquiries, billing complaints, filing invoices and keeping track of escrow accounts. Organizational skills are key for this job first posted on April 24.

Graphic Designer: Ronkonkoma-based firm has been looking for a full-time graphic designer and marketing specialist to keep the business rolling since June 19 and the search continues. Web, print and interactive design are all apart of the position. At least three years of experience needed, as well as knowledge of HTML, HTML5, CSS, MXML, and XML.

Lifeguard: First posted June 26, this position is at a private outdoor facility in Holtsville. As a lifeguard you will work shifts from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Valid lifeguard and CPR certifications needed. Pay is $10 per hour.

Plant Mechanic/Welder: Working for Covanta Energy in Ronkonkoma, the plant mechanic/welder is responsible for the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment. This is a physically demanding position (replacing pumps, modifying pipes) and requires three to five years experience. Formal technical and or apprenticeship training a plus. Posting has been open on this job board since May 1.

Sign person: First appearing June 5, this position calls for an animated and enthusiastic individual for sign work in Lake Ronkonkoma. Position involves standing in one area for a few hours advertising businesses. Pay is $9 per hour.

Account Specialist: One Source Document Management, a Ronkonkoma-based confidential copying company, is looking for an account specialist, and has been since March 27. This entry-level position calls for a flexible person with strong communication skills to work on site and at client sites taking care of processing requests. Experience with Microsoft Office applications needed.

General Manager: First posted on June 19, the Crowne Plaza is still seeking a general manager for the front desk of its Holtsville location. Responsibilities include managing hotel staff, managing projects and renovations, overseeing public relation efforts, as well as human resource activities including payroll and accounting. Four year degree required. Leadership and previous experience working on deadline a plus. Pay starts at $47,000.

Whole Foods Market: Positions available at Whole Foods Market became a staple of this job board a month ago. The Lake Grove establishment likes the Sachem community to know that on every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. the company hosts a job hiring screening.
