Help Wanted: Job Postings in Sachem, April 24

Part-time positions underscored the postings on Craigslist this week. On employement web sites, technical positions were more abundent that usual. Nevertheless, here's a look a some jobs currently available in the Sachem area:

Customer Service Rep: The Carco Group, an information service company in Holtsville, is in need of a customer service representative. Knowedge of Microsoft Excel and Word required. Position boasts good starting salary and benefits. Responsibilities include resolving customer inquiries, billing complaints, filing invoices and keeping track of escrow accounts. Organizational skills are key.

Administrative Assistant: Dantec Dynamics Inc., a scientific research equipment distributor with offices in Holtsville, is looking to recruit an administrative assistant. Work week is 32 hours long, from Monday through Thursday. General administrative duties  including supporting financial controller and sales team, processing sales orders, and answering phones are all apart of this position. 

Whole Foods Market: The teen 'job of the week' isn't just one but, several positions at Whole Foods Market in Lake Grove. Positions are part time and include cashiers, cake decorator, prepared food counter team member and more. Ability to follow instructions, work within a flexible schedule, as well as strong communication skills are needed for all positions.

Front Desk Clerk: Flexible schedule and great people skills needed for this part-time front desk position with the Residence Inn in Holtsville. Shifts can vary, either 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. or 3 p.m. until 11 p.m., and include checking guests in and out; enforcing hotel policy; and working with housekeeping and other staff to meet guest requests. 

Project Manager: A four-year degree and at least three years experience required for this project manager position with H.O. Penn in Holtsville. The Caterpillar equipment dealer is looking for someone with industry-related experience, as well as good organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering products; evaluation of technical information; and the support of sales initiatives and customer support. Travel required.

Restaurant work: Island Empananda, a new Latin American restaurant coming to the Waldbaums shopping center in Ronkonkoma, is looking to add staff before its opening in May. Experienced cooks, counter, and delivery persons needed. Full and part-time positions available.

Practice Relationship Manager: An Orthopedic practice in East Patcogue is looking for a practice relationship manager to help expand business. This position is similar to a public relations job, focusing on networking and marketing through the internet (social media included) and traditional methods like creating newsletters and patient mailings. To start, position is part time and flexible. Interns welcome to apply.

Sitter: Ronkonkoma family looking for sitter for 16-month-old son. Work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. each day. Pay between $10 and $15 per hour.

Assistant Living Aides: Lake Shore, an assistant living facility in Lake Ronkonkoma, has two shifts available for aides. Position pays $10 per hour. Work from either 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. until midnight. 

Airway Transportation Systems Specialist: This is a full-time, permanent position working for the U.S. Department of Transportation within the Federal Aviation Administration. Position pays between $77,489 and $120,096 and is open to all U.S. Citizens. Scope of work includes coordinating assisgnments, providing technical support regarding complex systems for the FAA and detailed work with computer hardware/software systems.
