Give It Your All Sports Expands Facility, Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary

Sachem alum's business performing to his expectations and growing.

Ronkonkoma’s Give It Your All Sports celebrated its one-year anniversary last week.

In business, timing is everything, so owner and Sachem alum Mike DiFilippo jumped at the chance to expand his facility when the business next to his on Lakeland Avenue left. He went from 6,000 to 8,000-square feet and immediately started offering more sport choices for his customers.

“We now have more than 10 different programs in our umbrella,” he said, listing gymnastics, cheerleading, basketball, golf and lacrosse as the new additions.

They also have clinics and room for baseball, softball, soccer and speed and agility training.

“We still are able to maintain that non-threatening environment,” he said. “We’re geared towards getting the little kids going, but now that we’ve grown, we’re able to handle the larger groups.”

Give It Your All has six batting cages and has been servicing softball and men’s baseball teams for training sessions.

“We’re a facility that can compete with anybody,” said DiFilippo, who also was able to add on a dedicated birthday party room and a pro shop for apparel and equipment, which is still being constructed. “We’re looking to maintain our niche in the community for athletes.”

DiFilippo was laid off from his job at JP Moran & Chase and said he is exactly where he wanted to be a year later with his new endeavor.

“The challenges here were phenomenal to overcome,” he said, mentioning his family has been there every step of the way to support him and the business. “We are where we want to be, but we need to continually grow.”

His biggest challenge has been community perception and letting them know that his 8,000-square feet pacts a much more intimate and powerful impact punch then a larger facility.

DiFilippo said Give It Your All will keep its prices below industry standard, offering 10-week sports clinics for $120 and birthday parties for under $300. Sachem community members can receive a $20 discount on the birthdays, he said.
