The will be hosting the first ever street fair in Farmingville and are now reminding local establishments to sign up for a spot before July 26 when the price to participate increases.
The fair will take place on August 26 at 11 a.m. along Portion Road between Morris and South Howell Avenues, and is Platinum sponsored by Astoria Federal Savings Bank.
"We created this event to bring businesses, nonprofit organizations and residents together for a fun-filled day, putting the “unity” back into “community,” Michael Wentz, president of the chamber, stated in an email.
The chamber is seeking participation from organizations such as the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, sports clubs and the like. Slots are still available for venders that sell crafts, arts, food and other goods. Additionally, the chamber is looking for high school students to volunteer in exchange for community service credits.
Vendors can find an application for the fair by visiting the Farmingville Chamber's website. Questions can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteer students need only send an email to participate.
