East Field Hockey Using Jawzz Mouth Guards Designed by Sachem Alum

District administrators like product that provides safety and pride.

Sachem East field hockey has been using the newly designed mouth guards from Jawzz, a company started by Sachem alum Matt McGarry.

It's been a win-win for everyone involved.

"We are a big supporter of the athletes at Sachem and all the athletes throughout the county," said McGarry, who graduated in 1998. "We just want to see them with the proper protection when they are out on the field."

McGarry donated mouthguards with Sachem logos for the girls to use. Now he's eyeing the bigger picture.

"We are hoping to work with all the schools on Long Island and make sure these athletes are protected," he said.

For Sachem, it's equally as fruitful.

"We appreciate the efforts of one of our former graduates for giving back to the community that he was raised in," said Sachem athletic director Pete Blieberg. "These mouthpieces not only provide the proper safety levels required for competition but have that added feature to display school pride with their customized school logos. So, not only are the members of our East field hockey team properly protected, they'll look good while representing our school district.  We are greatly appreciative for this generous donation."

"The girls absolutely love them," said East field hockey head coach . "The fact that they are red and either says Sachem or has the SE emblem on them makes them cool, but the best part is that each of them has their own numbers pasted on the mouth guard."

After research, McGarry realized younger athletes appreciate protective equipment when they have the ability to design what will actually be on the mouthguard. So he developed mouthguards capable of having high-end custom designed artwork.

Benefits of wearing a Jawzz Custom Mouthguard:
