BoltBus Comes To Ronkonkoma With $1 Fares

The bus line is known for its low fares and free wi-fi.

Traveling to New York City from the Sachem area will soon get even easier, as a new bus line unveils premium, non-stop service at rock bottom prices.

BoltBus will launch new, non-stop service between Long Island and Manhattan.

The bus line offers reserved seats, free wi-fi and fares as low as $1, and is slated to roll out service on Long Island on December 10.

The new bus line will feature 14 daily round-trips between New York and Long Island. Ronkonkoma service will depart from the Courtyard by Marriott on the LIE Express Drive South between exits 60 and 61. The location includes a heated waiting room near the boarding area.

In celebration of the launch, all seats on the route are priced at $1 for travel between December 10-17.

“We are pleased to offer commuters this express route between Long Island and the East Side of midtown Manhattan,” David Hall, general manager of BoltBus, stated in a release. “With the support of local government leaders, we’re excited to provide the Long Island community a convenient, hassle-free travel option that is unmatched in value, luxury and safety while further expanding our service in New York.”

BoltBus will operate from two other locations, including the Hilton Garden Inn in Riverhead and at the Long Island Expressway park and ride at Exit 49.

In Manhattan, service will arrive at 40th Street and 3rd Avenue, and at 59th Street and 3rd Avenue.  Service will depart in Manhattan from 40th Street and Lexington Avenue, and at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue.

BoltBus tickets are available for purchase in advance either online or via smartphone at BoltBus.com or from a driver before boarding.

One-way fares start at $1, plus a booking fee. The highest fare will adjust based on market demand. The earlier a passenger purchases a ticket, the lower the fare will cost.

A ticket purchase guarantees a seat on the selected schedule and walkup tickets will be purchased at full price. All tickets are nonrefundable.

A loyalty program, Bolt Rewards, is also available to reward frequent riders with free travel. Riders who take eight trips on BoltBus are eligible for a free one-way ticket trip.

BoltBus launched in 2008, with low-cost fares between New York City, Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.

Of course Allen. I must have had another hotel near the airport on Vets stuck in my mind. It is fixed in the story. Thanks for the correction.

Travel time will be on par with the LIRR with the help of the HOV lane.

I just called about a schedule, they leave the Marriott at 5am. So for all those early bird Ronkonkoma riders this is good to know. Also it's CHEAPER then the railroad. Spoke to customer service an they estimated a round trip to cost about $16.00.

Is the Marriott allowing Bolt customers to park in their lot?

A zero budget is not even necessary for this tremendous problem. Even with the 3.14 budget, thisRead More scenario exists. The classes will be in the thirties next year in the secondary schools. I heard the classes will have at least 35 kids in them next year because of all of the teacher excessing. It would be even worse if there is a zero budget, but the problem already exists.

It's very possible Mark, and you're right, it's already a problem because of the cuts made to get toRead More this tax cap budget. It will be a complete disaster if the budget fails.

Wrong JP, people like Mrs. Kohlmann make this country and people like yourself just take. That'sRead More what is shameful!

My kids do not have Mr. Hinkaty, but I know his name well from many others. He is a favorite ofRead More many, many students. I hope for the sake of Sachem something changes over the summer and they can find a way to keep him here. Whatever district ends up with that teacher will find that they have struck gold. We wish you the best, Mr. Hinkaty. I hope we can keep you here!
