Blue Point Brewing Company Remains Among Top 50 Craft Brewers

Blue Point Brewing Company is once again among the top 50 craft brewers in the country, according to an annual list just released by the Brewers Association.

Blue Point is No. 42 on the list, which is based on 2013 beer sales volume.

The Patchogue-based brewery first cracked onto the list in 2008, but its ranking among craft brewers has been falling in recent years. It was No. 34 on the 2011 list and in 2012, it came in at No. 36.

The newly released list is also the last one Blue Point is likely to appear on as a craft brewer. Anheuser-Busch is in the process of buying the company for a reported $24 million.

The top-5 craft brewers in the country–in order–are Boston Beer Co., Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., New Belgium Brewing Co., Gabrinus and Lagunitas. See the full list here

Well...the topic is about this fine product...which happens to be a local beer...so start another blog/discussion about whatever you want but lets not venture down the path of people becoming alcoholics...in the mean time pour my one...thanks.
