Sachem Library Friends Soliciting Donations for Used Books

Tax-free book donations aid in upcoming book sale

The Friends of the Sachem Library is asking for the communities help in stocking its next book sale, which helps raise funds for library programs and ammenities, such as the Inside Out Garden.

According to Abby Friedland, who does PR for the volunteer organization, they are in "dire" need of book donations that the library can re-sell in its next used book drive.

If you or your neighbors and friends are in possession of books they no longer need or use, they can be dropped off at the front desk of the library. All donations are tax-deductible.

I had donated 3-4 full plastic milk crates of books a few years back, all I got was attitude, no help, no mention of any type of tax deductible and not even a thank you of any sort! I would not do this again although it is a shame!

What I want to know is why there is a "Dinner with Barack" banner at the top of this newsletter?
