Sachem Gathers More Than 1700 Boxes Of Food

The Sachem East and North High School Student Governments held their annual food drive this past week and built more than 1,700 boxes of food for the less fortunate on Long Island.

It was 1,746 to be exact: 338 boxes from Sachem East and 1,408 boxes from North. At a ceremony held in the auditorium during 3rd period Sachem North revealed its number of boxes, and then set up an assembly line to load the boxes into an awaiting truck.

The food will be sent to various organizations to help stock food pantries during this holiday season. Those organizations include the Christian-based Lighthouse Mission and Brookhaven Town's INTERFACE program.
