Police: Mother Leaves 4 Kids in Car While Drinking at Holbrook Bar

Bay Shore woman charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

A Bay Shore woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police say she left her four children in the car while she drank alcohol at a Holbrook bar.

Police say Maria Cepparo, 40, left her children--a 13-year-old son, who has autism, an 8-year-old son and two 6-year-old twin daughters--in her 2012 Ford Focus that was parked in a fire zone in front of Momo's Sports Bar and Grill around 12:15 a.m. The car was left unlocked and without heat while Cepparo was in the Main Street bar, police said.

Cepparo was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. She was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday and released on her own recognizance.  The four children are currently with their grandmother, police said.
