Breaking: Farmingville Crash Kills Driver, Injures Passenger

Suffolk police are investigating a motor vehicle accident in Farmingville that claimed the life of one man and sent his passenger to the hospital.

Police say the eaccident took place at 2:41 p.m when a man, driving a 2013 Subaru northbound on County Road 83 lost control and careered over the guardrail into a ravine near the Vietnam Memorial near Bicycle Path Road.

The driver was killed. His adult male passenger was rushed to Stony Brook University Medical Center. It is undetermined the extent of the man's injuries, according to police.

Police would not identify the deceased driver pending notification of his family. Patch will have an update on this to come.
