Reel Rebels Film Discussion: Cave of Forgotten Dreams: Tuesday, December 6, 6:00 p.m.: This latest documentary by Werner Herzog is an unforgettable cinematic experience that takes the viewer into the otherwise inaccessible Chauvet Cave in France, site of the earliest known visual art created by man. Intriguing, informative, sometimes controversial, but always thought provoking, this monthly series combines the best in film and discussion. 

Plácido Domingo's Amazing Career: Wednesday, December 7, 7:00 p.m.: Plácido Domingo is recognized as one of the finest performers in the history of opera. His repertoire encompasses 134 roles, a number unmatched by any other tenor, with more than 3500 career performances. In this presentation, Cantor Don Goldberg will share rare recordings and insights into the life of this influential Spanish tenor and conductor.

Accepting Life's Changes: Saturday, December 10, 10:00 a.m.: Explore your feelings and develop closure. Holiday Trio: Sunday, December 11, 2:00 p.m.: Get in the spirit! Leslie Valentine, Nancy Loesch, and Christine Dore will perform traditional, contemporary, and classical holiday-themed music on voice and piano, along with a selection of inspirational holiday readings.

Gustavo Dudamel & the LA Philharmonic: Wednesday, December 14, 1:30 p.m.: LA Philharmonic's Music Director Gustavo Dudamel's inaugural concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall features a formidable program including Mahler's First Symphony and the premiere of a new work by John Adams.

Happy Birthday Frank Sinatra! Wednesday, December 14, 7:00 p.m.: Celebrate the crooner's 96th birthday with filmmaker Marino Amoruso, who will present his documentary Frank Sinatra: The Man & the Myth. This critically-acclaimed film, which premiered on PBS, offers a comprehensive portrait of the American legend and an in-depth look at his remarkable life and career. The film's guest stars include Tommy Lasorda, Pat Cooper, Robert Loggia, and others. Discussion with the filmmaker to follow the film.

Poetry: Verse in Person: Holiday Season Read-Around: Tuesday, December 27, 7:00 p.m. Join them for the annual holiday Poetry Read Around. Share your own work or the work of your favorite poet, or simply listen and enjoy. Special thanks to Mankh, member of the Performance Poets Association, for hosting this series.
