The Future of Sachem Football

A series of photographs showcasing the youth of the gridiron.

"The Autumn Wind "

The Autumn Wind is a pirate
Blustering in from sea
With a rollicking song he sweeps along
swaggering boisterously
His face is weather beaten
He wears a hooded sash
With his black and gold hat about his head
And a bristly black moustache
He growls as he storms the county
A villain big and bold
And the trees all shake and quiver and quake
As he robs them of their gold
The Autumn wind is an Arrow
Pillaging just for fun
He'll knock you 'round and upside down
And laugh when he's conquered and won.

The above poem is from the Legendary John Facenda,(with a few words changed), and is what comes to my mind anytime I see our young sons strap on the pads and play their hearts out on the football field.

That being said, this weeks installment of  "From the Lens, Sachem in Pictures" is a series of photographs showcasing the future of Sachem football.  At a recent home game at Sachem North, our future Flaming Arrows put on a scrimmage during halftime showcasing their talent. The teams that participated were from SYAG and Sachem Sports Club. An impressive outing it was, with our boys going at under the lights, on the big field, before a large crowd for most of the halftime.
