Holtsville native Frank Mirando had one of his strongest weeks to date on "Master Chef" last Tuesday when he served a dish that judge Joe Bastianich said could "take him to the top."
In fact Mirando's rabbit served with a vegetable medley and reduced gooseberry is so good, he almost wins the Mystery Box challenge outright, which would have given him a clear advantage in the Elimination Test. No matter, Frank made it through to the next round, while Cowboy Mike was sent back home to Georgia.
In an unexpected twist, the judges then decided to send one other person off the show. Ultimately, they told Tanya to leave her apron, after she served dried out lamb with whole cloves of raw garlic.
Nine contestants, including Mirando now are left standing. The show continues with an elimination tonight. Patch will provide an update for Mirando, win or lose.
