From the Lens ... Sachem in Pictures

The Holtsville Ecology Center is a local treasure and a great example of creative and effective use of old landfill space. The Town of Brookhaven Highway Department re-invigorated the area to include an animal preserve, greenhouse, meeting rooms, a public pool, exercise trails, and garden parcels which residents can use to grow their own gardens. There are educational programs as well, and the opportunity to feed some of the animals.
