One Man Talking - Emerging Artists New Works Series

Daniel Guyton (Sachem HS graduate, 1995) has a play appearing in the One Man Talking - Emerging Artists New Works Series in Manhattan. The show features multiple plays and authors listed below, but Mr. Guyton's play is one night only - Wednesday, March 14th at 7pm. He will be appearing and doing a talk-back after the show. Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind, once-a-year festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself enthralled by One Woman Standing, perhaps laughing with One Man Talking, maybe even humming along to a few new Notes from a Page. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.

What became of actress Jennie Gourlay after Booth shot Lincoln? Why does this obsess Billy Hipkins?...
Jennie Gourlay was an actress whose shot at stardom was cancelled when Booth shot Lincoln at Ford's Theatre. And Billy Hipkins is taking her story very personally. Strong identification with a fellow also-ran? Is his current showbiz life some kind of karma? Was he Jennie? Did he shoot Lincoln? And why does he love hoop skirts so much?

In search of adventure in Poland 1989, a young man discovers a female assassin, a Jewish skinhead, a mysterious bird, and the loss of innocence. DC Theatre Scene called The Bird "a treasure," gave it 5 out of 5 stars, and designated it "pick of the [Capital] Fringe."

"PRUFROCK'S WORLD"

T.S. Eliot's character J. Alfred Prufrock reveals his fears and pleasures during a journey to the long night of the soul...
British actor John Rainer plays the famous character from T.S. Eliot's poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. Drawing from Eliot's other early work, this is an original and intriguing story that echoes our own search for the meaning of life.

A hillbilly gothic about a farmer and his family, and how he exacts revenge when one of his daughters marries an abusive husband...
A farmer tells of the lengths he will go to in order to protect his daughters from boyfriends, and husbands. A shotgun and rock salt have typically been good deterrents. But when one of his daughters marries an abusive man, more drastic measures may be called for.

Charles Trenet was one of the most prolific songwriter/poets of the French chanson, penning over 1,000 songs from the early 30's to the late 90's. Through some of his most famous songs and accompanied by a live accordionist, Qui C'est, Trenet? brings to life the Fou Chantant, or "Singing Fool," whose bon vivant persona worked its way into the hearts of millions.
