Barret Beyer Still Alive on Hell's Kitchen

Sachem alum and current sous chef survived an odd cliffhanger week on hit Fox reality show.

Sachem Class of 1994 graduate and current contestant on Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" Barret Beyer will be sticking around for another week. But the odd thing is: so will everyone else on the show.

This week was apparently Part I of a two-part elimination ceremony after the credits rolled just before host Gordon Ramsay decided to eliminate a mystery contestant.

The men got to enjoy another week of elimination-free drama as they just edged out the ladies in the dinner service that was actually a "breakfast service."

This week the chefs had to rise before the roosters did and serve a full breakfast to EMTs and ER workers just getting off their overnight shift at a local hospital. The men got their last table served just ahead of the ladies, who struggled with burned or undercooked pancakes.

That left the elimination process up to the women, and while the ladies nominated Mary and Jaqueline, Chef Ramsay ordered both women to get back in the line and was apparently poised to eliminate someone on his own accord.

That's when "To Be Continued..." flashed on the screen. No worries, though. Beyer appears to be safe for at least another week.

Sidebar: The men have won two consecutive dinner service contests, but are still getting shut out of the prize challenges. Last night the ladies successfully identified all four proteins to be found in a row of entrees faster than the men could. They went off to take surfing and volleyball lessons and drink Champagne in Malibu, while the men had to bake bread from scratch and got all of about 2 hours sleep.
