Tonight the Sachem Board of Education will hold its first work session of the new year, with a 7:30 p.m. meeting in the board room at Samoset Middle School.
On the agenda for tonight is a recognition of the Sachem East Field Hockey team for their New York State Championship run. Also, Chelsea Palma will be acknowledged for Field Hockey Goalie of the Year. In addition to student recognition, coaches Dave Falco, Tom Gambino and Sean O'Hara will be acknowledged for earning their landmark 100th win as coaches in their respective sport.
At the last board meeting, BOE members agreed to at least a preliminary discussion of school security in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown Conn.
