Sachem North Students Pitch In To Keep Islip Clean

Student volunteers help clean area around Lake Ronkonkoma as part of community program.

Resident who visit Lake Ronkonkoma this weekend will have Sachem North students to thank for how clean it is.

Yesterday, student volunteers from North took part in the "Keep Islip Clean," campaign by tidying up the area around the lake.

The students pictured in this gallery combed the area for litter cleanup and collected data as part of the International Coastal Cleanup effort. Scroll through the small gallery to see how well the kids did.
