Sachem Library Trustee: Marguerite Barone

10-year veteran trustee running uncontested for seat in upcoming library election.

At tomorrow's library budget vote, Sachem residents will also be asked to officially re-elect Library Trustee Marguerite Barone for a five-year term of office.

Barone, who is running uncontested, has been a trustee since 2003 and a resident of the Sachem district since 1974. In addition to her seat as a trustee, Barone has also been involved in various community organizations, such as the Sachem Education Advisory Council and the Holtsville Civic Association (of which she was a founding member and a past president).

“It has been my privilege to serve the Sachem library community for these past ten years," Barone released in a statement published on the library's website. "I am proud to have been able to contribute to the library’s growth and innovations that the community continues to enjoy. It would be an honor to work with the dedicated and professional library staff for another five years as together, we can accomplish so much more.”
