Sachem Alum Makes Big Advancement In US Navy

A 2008 graduate of Sachem North High School, Ian McComb, recently passed his oral exam before the U.S. Navy Board and was certified as an official Navy Nuclear Engineer Mechanical Operator.

McComb completed two years of training at the Navy Nuclear School and will graduate today from the Ballston Spa, NY campus with his orders in place, according to his mother, Robin McComb. Ian McComb will report to the Naval base in Norfolk, VA to help build a new fleet of nuclear aircraft carriers, and will serve as a Plank Owner on the USS Gerald Ford.
