Residents: Neighboring Towns Blizzard Response 'Snow' Comparison

Sachem community continues to dig out, speak out against Brookhaven's handling of snow plowing.

Residents in the Sachem community continue to battle with unplowed streets as early as 11 a.m. today, and some of the residents have snapped photos of the ordeal.

Dave Cook sent the photo above, comparing the side streets in Happauge (Smithtown Township) to Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma. "Brookhaven at its finest," he quipped.

Others sent photos of their side streets, which they say continues to make travel nearly impossible. A Lake Ronkonkoma resident said she can't get to her job as an RN because of the poor conditions near Park Avenue.

Beth Santagata sent in a photo of Henry Boulevard and Broadway in Holbrook, where a pay loader was actually pushing a town plow that had gotten stuck in the snow.

Meanwhile, Justin Portente captured a car accident on Patchogue-Holbrook Road earlier today.

Browse these resident photos for a pictorial look at how the storm is still affecting residents more than three days after the blizzard hit.

Try the Boot Camp place on the corner of the LIE Service Rd & Hawkins. I'm pretty sure they haveRead More a workout geared toward kids.
