Cops: Sayville Man Employed as High School Coach Possessed Steroids

A Sayville man who works as a Lindenhurst High School gym teacher and volleyball coach is facing charges of possessing anabolic steroids, according to Suffolk Police.

Music is Over for Port Jefferson Hall of Fame Location

After much fanfare and high hopes, Port Jefferson Village will not be home to the  Long Island Music Hall of Fame.

Brookhaven town officials will discuss an offer to purchase the bank building that was to house hall at an Oct. 24 meeting. According to Annette Eaderesto, attorney for the town, work for the building was too costly for the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. The town, which owns the property, has already spent money on mold remediation and a roof leak that was fixed.

Miller Place-Rocky Point

$1.2M Secured for Revitalization of Rocky Point Downtown

More than $1.2 million in local, state and county funding has been secured for the revitalization of downtown Rocky Point that will be used to improve infrastructure, including the installation of traffic lights and streetlights in the town’s business district according to state and local officials who announced the funding on Monday.
