Motor Parkway Parade Rescheduled for October 30

Rain date quickly approaching for historic fun.

The First Annual Motor Parkway Parade to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the completion of the Lake Ronkonkoma section will be Sunday, October 30.

This event, run by the Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association, will feature the 1909 Alco-6 Black Beast Racer will lead the vehicles, as the car won the Vanderbilt Cup in 1909 and 1910. It will be followed by many local vintage vehicles from private collectors and from the Ronkonkoma Fire Department for an uninterrupted drive from Dix Hills to Lake Ronkonkoma.

The heritage association is looking for as many spectators to attend as possible.

Vintage Vehicles, 1948 and older, will parade from Deer Park Road and Motor Parkway in Dix Hills starting at 9 a.m. to Waldbaum’s Shopping Center on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma.
