Medford Street's Name Changes To Honor Chris White

Ceremony for fallen veterans advocate took place Friday.

Peconic Avenue in Medford is now also known as Chris White Way.

The street is named after the Medford veterans advocate killed on his motorcycle on Veteran’s Highway in Bohemia in September after helping escort a group of WWII veterans to MacArthur.

According to Newsday a ceremony was held Friday at the intersection of Old Medford Avenue and Peconic Avenue, where the new street sign is placed.

White was a member of Boots on the Ground NY, a nonprofit organization that serves veterans with various needs. A online donation and dedication page hosted on Giveforward.com to support his family currently has $25,751 donated out of a $50,000 goal with 60 days left as of this writing.
