Hi Sachem: Message From Your New Editor

Send in your Sachem news, photos to michael@patch.com.

Hi Sachem!

I'm Michael Sorrentino, and as of Friday am now the newest Local Editor for Sachem Patch.

Matthew McGevna is still with Patch, but has been expanded to a Community Editor role covering Patch sites from Montauk through Lindenhurst. I have been asked to take over running the day-to-day of Sachem Patch, and am excited to get to know this huge community.

I have been with Patch since 2010 when we launched the Patchogue Patch and have also been overseeing the Medford Patch launched in 2012. I will be continuing to cover Patchogue and Medford, as well as taking on Sachem. Since I've always been nearby, I have been reading Sachem Patch frequently throughout the last three years, and at times have contributed posts when both the Patchogue-Medford and Sachem area communities were included in a story.

Going forward, I want to make sure that Sachem Patch represents as much of the Sachem community as possible. So please email me at michael@patch.com or sachem@patch.com anytime with information on what's going on so we can get it onto Patch. While I will be exploring the Farmingville, Holtsville, Holbrook, Ronkonkoma, Lake Ronkonkoma and Nesconset areas to bring you as many things happening in the Sachem community as possible, we want the entire community contributing to Patch too so everyone can tell everyone else what's happening.

Anytime you would like, you can post straight to Sachem Patch's front page and newsletter using the Boards and Blogs section. If you ever have any trouble posting, just let me know. And feel free to grab photos and information at any Sachem sports games and email them in, as I'll gladly put up stories for as many teams as we can possibly get to.

If you have any questions, email me directly at michael@patch.com or sachem@patch.com anytime, or leave a comment below this post. Go ahead and leave any Sachem advice or story suggestions in the comments as well. Thanks for using Patch!

Michael Sorrentino
