Help Wanted: Job Postings in Sachem

With the holiday season here, part-time retail work is springing up. For those out of work or looking for extra cash, these opportunities are available in the Sachem area along with other full-time positions.

Here's a look at some local positions posted across the internet:

Security Officer: Macy's at the Smithhaven Mall is looking for a seasonal, part-time visual security officer to keep an eye on suspicious activity during the heavy shopping season. The position offers a flexible schedule, but requires previous security experience.

Retail Sales Associate: Kohl's in Lake Ronkonkoma is seeking part-time seasonal help. This position requires greeting and assisting customers through the holiday season.

Overnight Retail Associate: K-Mart in Farmingville is looking to help keep merchandise  in order during the overnight. This is a full-time position that is paid hourly, and includes an array of attractive benefits.

Custodian: This full-time position is at the Developmental Disabilities Institute in Ronkonkoma and requires some physical demands and a daily work schedule from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Technical Support Supervisor: Motorola, one of the largest employers in the area, has several positions available at its Holtsville location, the latest of which is for a Technical Support Supervisor. A bachelors degree and at least one year call center experience is required for this full-time position. 

Pizzeria Help: Joe's Pizzeria has a few position open. The Holbrook-based resturant is seeking a full-time pizza maker as well as a counter help/waitress to work part time. Evening work and experience is required for both positions.

Bartender: The Dirty Martini in Lake Ronkonkoma is seeking a bartender for day and evening shifts. The position needs to be filled ASAP.

IT Specialist: The Holtsville location of the IRS is just one of many across the country seeking an IT Specialist. This full-time position offers an attractive salary and also requires extensive education in fields such as: computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering.

Diesel Mechanic: This is a preventative maintenance mechanic position with Ryder in Ronkonkoma. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, and two years of proven experience in preventative maintenance such as inspections and warranty procedures as well as air, tire and brake repairs on medium to heavy-duty vehicles.

Reservation Manager: Good inventory control and customer service skills are needed for this part-time position with U-Haul in Ronkonkoma. In eight-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, this position deals with the directing of U-Haul equipment to dealerships and moving centers. 

Part time work at UPS: The UPS factory center in Farmingville is seeking part-time package handlers and delivery help for the holiday season. Both positions are physically demanding (able to carry up to 70 lbs.) and require a flexible schedule.
