April 6: BOE Meeting, Lacrosse vs. Whitman

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. Board of Education Meeting: Head down to Samoset Middle School at 7:30 p.m. for the latest board of education meeting. With the budget vote looming, teacher layoffs present and final numbers received from Albany it should be an interesting couple of hours.

2. Boy's Lacrosse: Whitman's Myles Jones comes to town today as the Wildcats play Sachem North in a boys lacrosse battle. Jones is the only threat on the team, so Sachem should improve to 5-0 and inch closer to the 100-goal mark.

3. Bone Marrow Screening: Head to Seneca Middle School from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to get screened and be a possible donor for a Sachem student in need.

4. : Brides to be and their families and friends are invited to enjoy an exquisite display of gourmet food along with a bridal fashion show and live entertainment at a Bridal Showcase to be hosted at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook.
