Sachem Cyclones reach Taylor Ryan wood bat tournament Finals

The 12u Sachem Cyclones baseball team this past weekend posted strong performances all weekend long. The Tournament consisted of 6 teams hailing from queens, Nassau and Suffolk county. On Friday evening they  faced the LSW Astros, The LSW team consist of players from Levittown, Wantagh and Seaford. Both teams battled  but our Sachem cyclones  won a nail biter 1-0 with some late clutch hitting and superb pitching.

On Saturday morning  they faced the NY Nationals and both teams played flawless not allowing any runs ending the game in a 0-0 tie . Saturday afternoon games against the Levittown North stars was a showdown for the ages. The North stars jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning. The cyclones responded with 6 unanswered runs the following inning and never looked back. They were the #1 seed going into the championship game only allowing 4 runs in 3 pool games. In the Championship game the Cyclones continued their defensive dominance against the owls. Leading  3-1  going into the 6th inning. The owls battled back and score 5 unanswered runs and were crowned champions. The Sachem Cyclones 12u are   Lou LaRocco, Anthony Cortes, Frank Arena, Ian Young, Brian Blakely, John Acerno, Ed Holyat, Brett Gaebel, Ben Levine, Connor Pietrowski, Nicky Cortes and James Oelcher. They Compete in the Boys of Summer League American  Division and is Coached  by Rob LaRocco, Herbert Cortes and David Levine.

"These boys are talented, hardworking and the most deserving bunch of players we have ever seen or coached,” said LaRocco on behalf of the coaching staff of the Cyclones. “They have unbelievable work ethic, great team chemistry and an unparalleled passion for the game.”Next week were off to Cooperstown.  GO CYCLONES!
