FARMINGVILLE AREA/BEWARE OF SO CALLED "CONTRACTORS"

I feel the need to post this for everyone to see: I live in Farmingville (By Granny Road) and last night at 7:30 2 young men (early 20's) rang my bell. I did not open my door but rather opened 1 of my bay windows. They went on to tell me that they were contractors and if I would like a roofing/siding estimate. I said no thank you and closed my window. I had the feeling that if I did open that door I was in for trouble. They had no paperwork with them (where would you write my so called estimate?) and even if they were legit how can you give me an estimate at 7:30 at night when it's pitch dark outside? I notified the authorities who stated we were the 4th call of the night for the same situation and deemed it as suspicious activity. Everyone please be careful - don't open the door to anyone you feel might be a threat - esp now during the holiday season. Sorry for the long post - just want to keep our neighborhood safe!
