"A good day to be an Arrow"

It was a good day for all of Sachem East today.

Sachem East Boys Varsity Volleyball took on Port Washington in the Long Island Championship early Friday night at Hofstra University. Sachem East won the first set 25-16, as well as the second set 25-19. East needed to win one more set to win the whole match and sweep for the LIC, but it wasn't looking good. East was down 12-5 early in the third set, but the Sachem East fans were still loud and proud cheering for the boys. East kept rallying back and scored 5 straight points keyed by Ryan Cole to make it a 19-17 game with Port Washington up by two. They rallied all the way back and took a 24-23 lead and eventually won the set, and Long Island Championship, on a kill by Erickson.

Sachem East Field Hockey also won their Long Island Championship 3-2 against Mamaroneck. East's Shelby Trentini and Katie Trombetta both scored to make it 2-1 for Sachem. Kyle Larkin scored the third goal to make it 3-1. Mamaroneck scorred a late goal with 4 minutes remaining, but East held on to win another Long Island Championship. A loud  "Katie Trombetta" chant emerged from the volleyball stands when we all found out the good news.

Sachem East's own Trevor Guerrera went to states this Saturday and represented our school and all of Sachem East Cross Country. He ran for a time of 16:07 and finished 41st out of over 130 runners. Huge congrats and thank you to Trevor for doing an incredible job at representing East.

Boys Varsity Volleyball and Girls Varsity Field Hockey both head up state NY next weekend in hopes to be State Champs.
