New Installment of 'Behind The Names'
This week Sachem Patch highlights Tito Rivera, whose memorial brick is set down at the entrance to the Sachem Public Library. We'd like to hear more about Tito. If you knew him or you know a living family member, contact us and we'll run a profile.

Author Talk in Patchogue
Holbrook native Rose Marie Dunphy will be giving a talk for her debut novel "Orange Peels and Cobblestones" at Side Street Books in Patchogue tonight at 7 p.m. 

Poetry Night
The Sachem Public Library is hosting "Verse In Person," which features an invited poet and then opens up the floor for an open mic poetry session. Tonight at 7 p.m. in Community Room B, Verse in Person will host Jonathan Sawan Turchiano. 

Sachem Teen Volunteers: Creating A Safe Space
Right next door to poetry night in Community Room C, the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth (LIGALY) will be hosting an informative workshop entitled "Growing up Gay and Lesbian." The program helps teens work toward creating a safe school environment for LGBT students. The workshop starts at 7 p.m.
