Uncle Louie, Fat Boys Strike Again

Land deal to be part of DJ Hero 2 video game.

This is an occasional series about a Sachem alum utilizing social media in his everyday business strategies for celebrities around the country ...

It seemed natural when DJ Hero approached about including Eric B & Rakim in the game's initial release.

Since created the definition of DJing and coined the sample, it made perfect sense.

"If not for Eric, music would be a very different animal, so sure, if they are going to make a video game about DJs, his music has to be featured," said Gregory, a Sachem alum. "That's where my concept of an all encompassing old school umbrella comes in."

He receives numerous calls regarding the old school genre and a new game marriage was met recently when he landed another of his clients, The Fat Boys, in DJ Hero 2. DJ Hero has announced the release of three new mix packs.

"The Fat Boys were pioneers in hip hop and the first to cross over into pop success," he said. "They don't get their just due as far as I'm concerned and having taken hip hop to commercial viability, they not only crossed over to pop but crossed over to movie and television making hip hop's revenue stream much more lucrative for today's artists.

"Kids who have never heard of the Fat Boys now have the ability to get to know them and interact as a DJ on this video game, spinning The Fat Boys Human Beatbox."

Gregory is also in the process of getting DJ Affect involved in the third installment of the game with another concept he has: regional DJs.

"Each major city has a defining DJ and naturally, Miami's hottest DJ is DJ Affect," he added.

He's on the radio on Y100, and in the hottest clubs in Miami. There are DJs like that in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and every other hot spot.

Gregory said he would love to see Roxanne Dawn be the Los Angeles face of this concept.

His concept is to call the game "DJ Affect: Spin your city upside down."

Users will login using their DJ Hero consoles and rep their city. The best DJs will make it to the finals and then, a King (or Queen) of each city will be named. The winner will have a chance to spin live in a Miami nightclub with DJ Affect.

"Oh the ideas that I come up with," Gregory said smiling on the other end of his computer.
