  • This is the first time Sachem East has started the season 3-0. The record for wins in a season at East is 5, recorded in 2004 and 2005. The longest varsity winning streak is four games, set during the 2004 season.
  • The three wins are more than Sachem East had combined in 2009 and 2010.
  • The 32 points East scored against Commack are the most the Arrows have scored this season.
  • The 7 points allowed are also the lowest total against Sachem this season.
  • East is 2-6 all-time in Week 3 games.
  • Sachem East has scored more points in its opening three games of the 2011 season than any other opening three games since 2004.
  • East is 5-2 all-time against Commack and has played them well in many key games, including a 42-19 win in East's first year in 2004, a 29-0 win in 2005, and a 20-15 win in 2009 in Week 1, the last victory for East before a 15-game losing streak.
  • The Steven Casali File: Casali, a junior, has rushed for 474 yards and 8 touchdowns in three games.

  • Sachem played West Islip for the first time since 1986, a 14-0 Flaming Arrows victory in the Suffolk County Championship.
  • West Islip is one of a few times to have ever gotten the best of Sachem. The Lions lead, 14-4, all-time and have outscored Sachem, 288-168
  • The 25 points Sachem scored in Week 3 are the lowest the Flaming Arrows put up on a team this season. The previous low was 27 against Bay Shore in Week 1.
  • West Islip is the first team to score first in a game against Sachem in 2011.
  • Sachem has started a season off 3-0 only 11 other times since the program began. This is the fourth year in the last 11 seasons to accomplish this task and third in a row.
  • Sachem has won 24 of its last 26 games dating back to the final game of the 2008 season.
  • Sachem is 30-18-3 all-time in Week 3 games. It is 7-5 in its last 12 games on that week of the season.
  • The Dalton Crossan File: With his 192 yards and 3 touchdowns, Crossan (11 TDs and 547 rushing yards in 2011) currently has 1,518 yards, good enough for No. 12 all-time in Sachem history. If you add in his numbers from two varsity seasons at Shoreham, he has 2,562 career yards as a high school football player. He needs 21 yards to crack the top 10 at Sachem, and just 13 yards to pass former teammate Jesse Scanna.
