The Dalton Crossan File: Boston College, Rutgers

Last week, Dalton Crossan took visits to Boston College and Rutgers University.

Rutgers, who has shown the most interest in the Sachem North junior, allowed him to sit in on player meetings and experience the lifestyle of a Scarlet Knight.

“It was awesome to see what they do on a normal day,” he said. “It’s good to get a sense of that.”

He has visited Rutger’s before and will meet with them again soon.

At Boston College he joined about 25 other junior football players and toured the facilities, met with coaches and watched their annual spring game.

Between Rutger’s, Boston College and Purdue, he’s been to three different major conference schools.

“All three have a different fit,” he said. “There is not one tremendous favorite yet.”

He spoke to receivers coaches at BC on the recommendation of Ifeanyi Momah, a senior receiver for the Eagles who hails from John Glenn High School. His brother Onyi Momah, who played at Hofstra and briefly for the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills in minicamp, trains Crossan.

“He said they’re really high on me, they liked my film,” he said.

He’ll attend a Boston College camp during the summer, which could prove to be big in terms of a possible offer.

Penn State and Syracuse both held their junior days the same day as BC, but Crossan could only choose one since the Sachem North vs. Sachem East boys lacrosse game was originally scheduled for Saturday night. He scored four goals and added an assist in the game which was played on Monday and won by North, 15-6.

If he knew it was going to get rained out, he probably would have opted for Penn State. He’ll still visit there and with the Orange at some point, as well as N.C. State, Buffalo and Western Michigan.
