A look at some teams in Sachem and their performances from the past week:

Sachem North

Wrestling: On Wednesday, January 18, Sachem lost to Brentwood (4-0 in League I), 34-27. That Friday Sachem beat Ward Melville on the road, 46-24. Michael Falcon won by decision over Anthony Russolillo, 9-2, at 145 pounds to lift Sachem North, now 3-1 in League I. The team will host Patchogue-Medford on Wednesday and travel to Longwood on Friday.

Boys Basketball: On Friday, January 20, Sachem fell to William Floyd, 60-56. The team put forth another strong effort against Anthony White and a strong William Floyd team, but it would not be enough. Juniors Danny Urbanski and Louis Ferrari led the way in scoring with 15 points and two three-pointers each. Floyd (6-1) was led by the dominant White who had 24 points. The team will travel to Brentwood on Tuesday and host Commack on Friday.

Girls Basketball: On Tuesday, January 17, Sachem falls at home to Patchogue-Medford, 55-36. Danielle Levine had 27 points, including two three-pointers. That Friday Sachem beat William Floyd, 33-31. Erin McNulty scored on a driving layup and made the ensuing foul shot with 55 seconds left to lift Sachem North (2-5) in League I. McNulty finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

On Tuesday, the team will host Brentwood and will travel to Commack on Friday.

Girls/Boys Winter Track: The girls team looks to dominate in their next meet at Suffolk West Art Mitchell Meet while the boys team prepares for their Sunday Coaches Meet, in which they look to creep up the League I standings, where they currently stand at 10th place.           

Sachem East

Wrestling: It's been a strong run for the East wrestling team thus far. Last week they beat West Islip, 53-18, and Bay Shore, 76-3. This week they'll travel to Connetquot in possibly the biggest dual meet in Suffolk County this year on Thursday. Coverage to come on @SachemPatch.

Boys Basketball: On Tuesday, January 17, Sachem fell at home to Longwood, 59-48. Joe Santarpia had 18 points and two three-pointers, and Randall Colson chipped in 14. That Friday, Sachem lost to Brentwood, 61-54. D’Andre Smith had 16 points and Joe Santarpia put up 13. The team will host Ward Melville on Tuesday and travel to Patchogue-Medford on Friday.

Girls Basketball: Last week, Sachem beat Longwood on the road, 58-32. Meagan Doherty had 22 points and four three-pointers. Katie Doherty and Kathleen Everson each had 12 points. On Thursday Sachem beat Brentwood at home, 54-27. On Tuesday, the girls travel to Ward Melville and will host Patchogue-Medford on Friday. Sachem Patch will have coverage of the Ward Melville game.
