Sachem High Class of 1963 to Hold 50 Year Reunion
Reunion event next year will invite graduates from classes 59' to 70' as well.
A member of the Sachem High School graduating class of 1963 has organized the dates for a two-day 50th reunion to take place next August.
Louis Brida, a former commander of the American Legion in Ronkonkoma, has set the dates for August 3 and August 4, and is inviting anyone from the graduating classes of 1959 to 1970, with special emphasis on 1963.
"I’m inviting the entire Sachem original school," Brida said, a reference to those classes attending Sachem High when it was originally housed at what is now Samoset Middle School.

The August 3 event is more casual and will be held at the American Legion in Ronkonkoma. There will be a bar-b-que and Elvis impersonator, classics -crooner Don Anthony will be performing. A DJ will also provide music for the day, which will start around noon and will last until eight o'clock.
The August 4 event is a more formal sit-down buffet dinner to be held at the Holbrook Country Club at 1 p.m. Don Anthony will be returning to cover songs by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Brida said a block of rooms have been reserved at the Marriott Hotel and free shuttle service will be provided to take reunion attendees to and from the country club event.
A price for the reunion has not yet been solidified, but Brida said there will likely be a discount on the August 4 event if attendees reserve both days.
"We haven't had a reunion in 30 years," Brida said. "And we have a terrific class. The class of 1963 was a powerhouse class."
A flyer for the event is currently in the works and Patch will publish the flyer when it becomes available. For more information, contact Brida by email at Loub3@optonline.net
