One Minor Injury in Car Fire on LIE
Ronkonkoma Fire Department responds to fire on the expressway Friday afternoon.
A car went up in flames on the Long Island Expressway in Holbrook Friday afternoon.
One person inside the car suffered a minor injury in the fire, which occurred on the westbound side of the expressway just east of Exit 61 around 2:15 p.m., according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.
The Ronkonkoma Fire Department responded to the scene to put out the flames. The car was not involved in an accident and the cause of the fire continues to be investigated, officials said.
