North's Armine Commits to Molloy

Will play Division II college lacrosse on Long Island.

Sachem North's Angelo Armine has commited to play Division II lacrosse at Molloy College.

Armine, who was injured most of the 2010 season with a shoulder problem, is an outspoken leader for the Flaming Arrows on the lacrosse and football teams. He is also a quarterback on the gridiron.

"This is a great place for Angelo," said North head lacrosse coach Jay Mauro. "He is a tremendous athlete and will continue to get better as he plays lacrosse."

He joins fellow incoming seniors Michael Andreassi, Jake Cabble and Tim Lang as the only athletes at North to commit to a college so far.

Molloy finished 5-9 overall last year playing in the ECC.

"It's a true testament to our program," Mauro said last month when Lang committed of the early commitments. "It shows that hard work pays off and our program is headed in the right direction of our ultimate goal and that's winning states and being recognized around the country."
